She’s home!
Thursday, March 12th, 2009Well yesterday was an eventful day. Up at 6, out by 6:45 and then sit and wait while Mary had her operation. It looks to have all gone according to plan and now only time will tell if the Doctors managed to sort Mary out so that she’s not in any pain. There’s so much to be thankful for.
The operation went without complication and Mary’s home and recovering;
Mary had the best care. You really cant fault the job that the nurses do. I know that they can be bristly and austere but they have a massive job to do in an inefficient system and they have to do the best they can. The staff that looked after Mary yesterday were superb, they were gentle, sympathetic, understanding, knowledgable and caring. Even the consultant, and those that know mewill know that I’m not a great fan of consultants.
Whilst we’re talking about consultants I am extremely grateful for Mary’s consultants sympathy and understanding over Mary’s request for sterilisation, their wisdom for suggesting alternatives to defer the decision and their experience to be able to implement an alternative that Mary hadn’t considered and was happy with.
I’m also thankful that the first thing the girls wanted to do when they got in was see their mum. Their’s nothing like the the support and love of your family to speed your recovery.
